About Palmanova

A popular beach area perfect for families

Palma Nova is located in the south west of the island in the municipality of Calvia. It is a seaside resort with a wide, shallow bay with three good beaches : Son Maties, Na Nadala and Es Carregador and a small marina on the Son Caliu side of the bay. The town lies in the heart of the popular south west region. It was developed in the 1960s as purpose-built holiday resort. It has an international community but attracts mainly British tourists. The main attraction of Palma Nova is the safe, shallow, sandy beach which is perfect for families with children or water sports. It is a lively resort but not as boisterous as nearby Magaluf! It also has the advantage of being only a 15 minute drive from Palma.
