In Villafrance de Bonany, you will find Els Calderers. A traditional, 18th century, rural, farmhouse which was once at the centre of a wine estate. Wine production was brought to an abrupt halt around 1891 when phylloxera disease destroyed the vines, it spread across the island, destroying virtually all of Mallorca´s vineyards. Els Calderers is now a museum of furniture, paintings and the traditional workings of a manor house in the 18th century. You can see the wine cellar, granary, bakery, wash-house, chapel and the beautiful grounds. In the village shops you can buy the ramallet tomatoes which are strung. A tradition on the island for over 100 years. The ramallet tomato is a key ingredient in Mallorcan cuisine, especially in Pa amb oli, bread with oil. We also deliver and collect from Palma Airport.
